Message from Country Glen Swim Club PresidentThe Capital Improvement plan for Country Glen is progressing well. Montgomery County has just given final approval to our contractor for the pool changes and the jack hammers are digging. The beach entry construction is underway. The far staircase in the shallow end of the main pool is being demolished and a gradual slope entry to the pool is being created. New tile is being installed on the pool gutters using special corner moldings that will minimize sharp edges and exposed grout. The deck has been enlarged along the rear portion of the pool and the low fence separating the grass area has been removed. The entire main pool and baby pool will receive a new surface and lane tiles. The main deck is also being rebuilt and a new surface will be installed. New wrought iron fencing will be replacing the visible chain link fence. New pool furniture and a pool slide are being ordered this week. We are still exploring some water feature toys for the baby pool. The bath house is being completed updated with tile floors, tiled walls, new lighting, a ventilation system, new screens, new partitions, new sinks, and a new roof. A permanent snack bar is also being built complete with improved lighting, sinks, and more outlets. The front counter and entry will now feature a place for us to proudly display our trophies. The tennis courts are being resurfaced with a new drainage system to divert water away from the courts. A sand volley ball court and new playground equipment will also be in place. Overall just about every surface at Country Glen is being rebuilt, resurfaced, or repaired. Feel free to stop by the pool and check things out yourself. We will begin posting pictures on our website.
